At Aalto University we collaborated with Iittala, a Finnish design brand, and the assignment was to find new solutions for their visual identity. After a comprehensive research process, me and my team mate Katri Astala came up with the concept titled Feel the Form.
Feel the Form embraces the quality and design of the Iittala products. It consists of three main elements combined with Iittala's own typeface: colors picked from Iittala glassware, rounded shapes and touch-based line drawings. The line drawings are actually made blindfolded, because we wanted the illustrations to be all about the feel of the dish. The visuals bring new edginess and vibrancy to Iittala, celebrating the feel and the form of the products. Those are the things Iittala should be proud of.
